Engine Swap - Log Splitter - using a Snow Blower Engine????

Thanks Randy - I see Ebay has some of those filters assemblies. Is there anyway I can verify if the 632239 jet will work in this carb? This engine is not mine yet - its a neighbors, and I certainly do not want to start replacing parts and possible screwing up something I don't own.

The only way to comfirm would be to compare the length and pitch of the thread between the adjustable jet and the fixed jet. I think most of the threads are identical for there carbs.

Would like to hear from any members who have repurposed a snow blower engine with good results. With the removal of the shrouds to increase air circulation around the cooling fins and providing ambient temperature air instead of heated air to the carb the engine will act very similar in warm temps versus in cold temps. The fixed jetting is a concern, but a lot of carbs these days come that way. My guess is this will work out just fine.

The shroud around the head should come off . The engine is shrouded to keep heat in , i used one and it overheated , mixture was ok though.

I have been running one of these engines on my splitter for years, must have split 40 or so cord with it with no problems. It was on an old blower I picked up for free so wasn't worried to much about it. Doesnt even have an air filter on it!
for the price I wouldn't worry to much.
