engine temp of running diesel

The 332 is a Deere with a 16 hp Yanmar 3 cylinder diesel engine. Same family as used in the larger compacts. The radiator cap part number is AM105793 . No idea what the pressure rating is. Agree with Roy, call the nearest dealer regardless of how far he is. Or do it on the web through JD Parts. See about getting one sent to you.

Could have also mentioned it is the same engine (3TN66UJ) used in the 655, although a different cap number is called out in that application.

In an engineering capacity, I have talked to several railroads. Typically they did not use antifreeze in their diesel locomotives and it was actually common for the radiator to freeze up while the engine is running.

I've always wanted to look over a diesel train engine! Never had an opportunity.. Have always wanted to look at the engines in a large freighter, too. You know, the ones that burn "heavy bunker fuel".

They're pretty "cool running", too - IMO.
