Re: Enron and California
Bayrat,
Let me re-phrase. An investigation is proceeding to see if Enron was price gouging during California's power crisis. According to USA Today (Friday Feb 22, 2002):
"David Fabian, A software programmer for Enron, says Enron traders purposely clogged the state's power lines, then sold the power at excessively high rates in the state's wholesale electricity market."
How that's supposed to work, I have no idea. I seem to remember hearing that Enron owned an Oregon power company, but I'm not sure which one. Oregon Light and Power, maybe?
The point here is, that fancy book keeping aside, this was a big company with fingers in a lot of pots. The fallout has only just begun.
