i am looking at purchasing a 4310 epowrreverser instead of hydro. there is one thing that concerns me about the reverser, it seems to lurch forward when you flip the lever, not smooth at all. it acts like a car when you dump the clutch and it lurches forward and you get a bit of whiplash. the hydro rolls smoothly, not perfect, but a lot smoother. testing the reverser i end up using the clutch to smooth it out. doesnt seem right.

does this sound normal for a reverser?? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif tractor is new with 2 hrs, no FEL and tires not loaded. maybe it needs the weight of the loaded tires??

thanks for the help

I believe the ePowrReverser is programmable for shift response. I can't remember if the 'MotionMatch' is only for the eHydro or covers both trannys. The 4310 I test drove was smooth as silk changing direction - almost identical in feel to the more-mechanically-based large frame CUT PowerReverser action.

When they are brand new the shifting is harsh. After about 30 hours it smoothes out greatly. Use the throttle and throttle it down when shifting in the beginning and it won't be as hard.

motion match is standard with the epowrreverser. i tried it in both settings, no difference

harsh is an understatement.... glad it smoothes out. are you speaking about the powrreverser on the 4600 you have?? do you think it will smooth out on the electronic version as well??

i like the shuttle better than the hydro, it feels like driving a tractor. i used to run an old 4020? 4220 ? with a rock picker for a rancher friend. reminds me of that. nothing against the hydro, i think it is a great tranny, easy to use, but saving $1200 is nice as well. also concerned about safety on slopes etc. i hear the hydro is a bit safer, take foot of and stop...

My 4310 with power reverser has shifted smoothly since it was new. You can make it lurch if you flip the switch to a quick shift and go from reverse to forward.

basically if i was completely stopped and shifted forward it would lurch pretty strong.

i ended up using the clutch to smooth it out.

4000....just kidding around 1500

maybe because the tires arent loaded??

the dealer is going to look at it.

i jumped up on a new 4120 powrreverser to see if it had same problem. it was a lot smoother, not super smooth but better. one thing i did notice and did not like was that the fenders were really vibrating, like soemthing was loose. did not seem real solidly built.... /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
