As a teenager in the 1980's, I bought about $3500 worth of Zildjian cymbals and Tama heavy-duty boom stands for $600 or $700. Seller lived in a bad neighborhood of north Philly, and was only home in evenings, after dark in those winter months. Mom vetoed the idea of going there at night with cash in pocket, so we met in a mall parking lot, and did the transaction out of the trunk of his car.I got a quick story the other way. I bought a thing to locate wires with off Craig’s list. Met up at a gas station. Guy didn’t look really well off. We made the transaction fine. But he pHoned me twice asking if I had anything to do with law enforcement. Made me think maybe it was hot. But no problems
He had a story as to why he was selling this massive kit of hardware so cheap, but it was fishy as hell.
