Sorry you didn"t get the job. Did they give you a reason. It would be nice to know so you could try to improve in that area for future interviews.

Too bad it did not work out. Maybe the truth is when you said honesty, maybe they did not figure they can handle the truth. I find it gets me in trouble when I am being honest!

Just finished reading this. I'm curious to know what type of company this was for & what is the yearly income. With all those interviews it sure seems like it is an important position.

It was not for a company. It was for the city...

And probably every phase was reviewed by the city lawyer as well as the rights commission to assure they could not be liable in any way shape of form after which an outside consultant was retained to review the procedure.
Taxpayers $$ at work!

Even bets there was a oneway mirror in the room and tapeing also took place.
After which the mayors relative got the job anyway.

Well, I found out today that I didn't get the job. I am disappointed, I really thought I had a good shot. If the person that got the job was a better candidate, then he deserves the job.

I'm sorry to hear that.
All too often in the public sector they already have a qualified candidate who has worked his way up through the ranks; but they still have to go through the motions.

I'm not sure if that's the case here or not, but I wouldn't be surprised it was.

There is always the possiblity that the person they hired would not pan out, be smart about how you handle the rejection. I interviewed two times for my current job. I sent thank you letters to the two main interviewers and the second time around they remembered me.
