Ethanol, myths and realities

It took Brazil about 10 years to make the switch. But now that they have they are 100% self-sustaining with very little oil import.

Brazil runs on sugar cane, not corn. Big difference in energy production. Either way, switching is the right thing to do. And I'd rather import alcohol from Brazil than petroleum from the mid-east.

All the oil in the world could dry up tomorrow and they would keep going on like nothing happened.

Ethanol is a lousy lubricant. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Hey BlueRidge

I agree on buying alcohol from Brazil instead of oil from those oil producers, both foreign and home based. They are extorting $$. As to lubricating there is good synthetic oil, some better than the real stuff.

It would be nice if we could make alcohol from weeds. I got a good crop growing right now.

Cheers...Coffeeman

If we could make ethanol from kudzu, all of our energy problems would be easily solved.
