I think you’re mischaracterizing people who want this convenience feature. Unless you’re ready to label yourself lazy, because you have power windshield wipers, power windows, power door locks, power seats, power mirrors, self dimming mirrors….instead of manual operation.

A 10% waste heat penalty adds up. Parts will require cooling, 10kW L2 will charge 9kW and waste 1kW.

On top of that the added weight of the hardware, the added cost.

All to save 15 seconds to connect, 15 seconds to disconnect. Lazy is an appropriate term.

The technology will improve. Just because it’s not something you want at this point , doesn’t equate those looking for its innovation improvements, to be “lazy”.

Automatic transmissions used to waste 10% over manual transmissions as waste heat. Everyone with an automatic transmission is lazy.

You have an expensive EV so you don’t have to walk or ride a bicycle.
Your EV is 100% wasted fuel over walking, biking, or catching a ride. I guess you’re lazy

Tesla Robo taxi confirmed wireless charging efficiency well over 90% at least at 25kw charge rate.

This will be a nice feature for lazy EV owners that can't be bothered with plugging and unplugging the car on next gen Tesla's.

I could see this as a Much safer way to public charge in a bad neighborhood. Without a breakaway adapter their is no driving off without getting out of the vehicle.

In an emergency cancelling the charge and driving off should be possible.

It may be more useful for the robo taxis since there will be no owner EV owners around.

I do like those conveniences. Anyone with kids knows how frustrating it is when they bail out of the car leaving the rear window down and you can't reach it from your position.

And your in a spot where you can get pit, walk around, and roll it up

Today’s automatic transmissions internally shift like a manual, torque converter locks up like a manual clutch.

So when “technology improves” we’ll be right back to a cable plugged into the connector.

I don't have (or want) any of those things on my car or truck, except windshield wipers. So I guess that makes me just a little bit lazy
