It was Biden tariff so it was good and did not affect things. 100% tariff on Chinese BEV in early 2024

I had a post recently that explained this, but it got deleted, as someone apparently reported it as "politics". Seems we can't even talk history, without someone calling it political, anymore.

But long story short, both of the last two administrations supported the same tariffs. Both sides of the aisle.

It was Mar 1973 when I purchased my first and most likely last new ICE vehicle a Datsun 1200 Couple for $2150 before taxes in Murray KY. It was very low maintenance for the first 200,000 mi. Then I gave it to a friend who had a daughter that was without a car at the time. It was October 2019 when when I purchase my first used EV a 2016 Nissan Leaf SL with 22K miles for $13.5K. Five weeks later it triggered the battery warranty for a new larger 40 kWh battery that sold for $12K directly from Nissan at the time. That was the time that I learned that Nissan was shrinking and was not going to make the leap to EVS in time to survive but the billions they spent on introducing EVs to the world helped Tesla become a trillion dollar company last week.

Doesn't get out of their basement to take photos of fallback manual door latches in all cars with the electronic latches, just says to blame your salesman if you die because you were not shown.

Tesla uses frameless windows. So the glass need to drop 1/2" before the door opens so as not to damage the door seals or tweak the glass.

I had a friend who had power windows and door locks in her car.

Well the battery tanked out just as she started through the intersection.

She called me in an utter panic because she was stuck in a hot car in the middle of an intersection.

I was flabbergasted at first..... then I asked the most simple question in the world.

Have you tried pulling the knob up?????

At that point I was greeted with a fair amount of cussing followed by a thank you and she was out of the car
