Ever buy a used tractor sight unseen?

Yes I have, and I sold it within six months of purchase, and then did it again.

In the end I lost nothing but my time on the first one and now love my second one.

I bought a B7300 on Ebay last year and I was pleased with the deal. BUT, I saw a lot of pictures, called and asked a lot of questions and it was a low hour tractor that unless it was really abused wouldn't have been that bad. I also looked at a car on Ebay this year and was able to go and see it before the auction was up. It was totally misrepresented.
So, it's a crap shoot. You can't ask enough questions and see enough pictures. Your gut feeling when you have them on the phone is going to be your best guide.

I traded into my BX2230 sight unseen. Got it from a dealer I'd done business with before. The tractor had a few electrical gremlins but it ran fine. I mowed with it for 1.5 years and never had a problem. When I took it in to ask about a trade at a local dealer I found out that the 2230 had had a few things done to it before I got it under warranty. I might not have done the deal had I known about the repairs although the machine ran fine with no issues and I'm sure will continue to do so.

That said I'm very glad to have my new BX 2350 with full warrantee!

Bought mine sight unseen. Drove 16 hours to get it home and have been working on it since.

If it were not for the guys here on TBN, I'd be sitting on a pile of useless junk.

I won't buy anything that far away again. I'm sure there are good people out there, but I can't afford to take that chance. I put myself and my family in a serious bind when I bought this tractor. That was my bad. I owe alot to these guys on these forums.

I know this was a "brand specific" post, but hope my misfortune can help someone.

Bought both of mine from a dealer that I heard about here on TBN and have ended up buying a few pieces of equipment as well. I didn't pick it up the delivery was to my house. I have never met Brady Barlow of Barlow Tractor but I have talked to him on the phone a few times and I will again when I go to buy something else for the tractors.
