Re: Ever done business with Ande Chevrolet in Indy
I guess it depends on the truck MSRP and dealer sales volume.
My sales man, Erik was all smiles. I think they were wanting to sale that high end dually that day. The 04's come in this week if I remember right. Sounds early? But they are almost out of 4x4 trucks. Only 1500's left.
Plus they make money on the intrest ( I was pre-aproved too), plus the $900 step bars did not cost them $900, plus the 7 year/85,000 mile complete bumper to bumper coverage.
They sell 10 to 20 trucks per day ... most pay well above invoice, many lease, not a bad living. Plus they sale Durangos and high end two door cars. My local dealer, Palmer, is also expanding the show room again. The dealership has been rebuilt twice in 5 years. The bigger trucks never sit long. They also sell Vipers and other used exotics. Love to look at them.
The service area is always packed with older trucks in for cash work. Saw a nice Ford crew cab in there yesterday on the lift. They have a full service transmission shop too. Does lots of work. Parts department is big business. I have to get many parts from them, its not like GM truck parts that the after market provides (Pep Boys rebuilds) and those mopar parts are very pricy.
They sell at good prices, don't play all the games with the sales mangers. Only took two trips for us. In return they sale lots of trucks. In the past their sevice department was very bad, but they fired and hired new people. It seems much better, after my dealings with them. They put my side steps on... no problems. Even offered to re-fix my 98 they screwed up. I really can't complain about my Dodge dealer, I wish the other brand dealers would follow. At least train the sales people about what they're selling. This is the only dealer I know of that can talk shop about trucks, Ford and Chevy too. They don't bash another brands either.... Give good info and even point out the good points of other makes.
That's a Very rare sales team at Palmer.
I have noticed I get better prices from volume dealers, not much selection though. I bought the only 3500 truck left on the lot, late in the year. They sold two the day before and have run out of stock. They only have 1500's now. Waiting on 04's.
Its nice to speak positive about a truck dealer for a change. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
