Ever get your tractor stuck?

/ Ever get your tractor stuck? #41
I am stuck in a wetland area...extremely soft ground there. Also notice that I have a 15' batwing mower behind me. I am sure that if it was just the tractor alone, it could have gotten out on it's own (in reverse). Forward would have sunk it more.

I figured it must have been bad going forward since the truck looked to be pulling from behind. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif And those tires don't give as much traction going backwards as forwards. It was interesting that the truck could not get the tractor out. I MIGHT have the option of using my truck to pull the tractor out if I get stuck. There are some areas, most of them?, that I can't get the truck into. Luckly I have two neighbors with tractors so I have help if I need it.... I dont ever want to need the help! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif I have been to close a couple of times as it is! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I wonder if 4WD would have helped? Not that we would ever know. But it would be nice to know. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gifj

Good info in your post and picture....

Hillbilly - I totally agree with you - I also have a Warn 9000 "basket" winch - one of the best things I've ever owned. I had previously driven myself nuts switching winches and mounting kits every time I bought a new truck - now I just but a new front reciever mounting bracket and I'm good to go. The other thing that makes this a real deal is that I have welded reciever brackets onto my flat bed traliers and can winch on any machinery or non-motorized item that I need to - this capability has been awsome!

A good investment to say the least./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I have been buried to the frame. Evend with two wheel and no loader it is not that bad to get out. I take a fence post or something that is handy and won't break and get it behind the tractor wheels from one side to the other and chain it to each wheel. (be careful not to go through a spoke where the valve stem is) and back up slowly.once you have lifted the tractor up on the post put onother one down and so on. Of course unchaining each one. A loader is nice to lift the front and curl the bucket back to help push. I have a hydraulic winch permanently installed on my loader frame. I use it more than I ever expected. from moving piles of brush to loading logs. It is something that should be standard equipment.

I'd be interested in seeing a picture of how you installed a winch on your loader frame if you have one... Thanks in advance.

Light isn't too good, but hope you can get the idea. Heck of a time trying to figure how to get a pic in here.

Yeah, but think of the feeling of accomplishment when you did it - and did it well, too./w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif
