Ever use a 2720 with a disc and a plow or a rototiller to remove sod?

Used to have a JD dealer that would rent a Harley 3 pt rake, and they are priceless for the few times one needs it. But to own one, would have to go into business to pay for it.
They won't do well tearing up sod, but if the ground has been recently tilled and needs grooming, they can't be beat. Even do pretty well when the ground is on the wet side, but helps to dry it out for a second pass couple hours later. Great for ground with building debris and rocks (within limits).

Local IH dealer has a HR to rent for a skid steer and is quite reasonable, even if one has to rent the skid steer for a day.

I don't use drags myself but are good if on a tight budget. I built a 3ph spiked tooth harrow for about $250 pictured below. I also built an 8' land plane grader scraper for smoothing lawns and fields pictured below. I also use a pine straw rake to cover seeds with good results too.

For fields and pastures I frequently grade the area with a box blade and laser set up for flood irrigated land then plant as above.
