I heard today that a neighbors pole barn when down from snow load.time for some melting here.

Ouch. That's not good.

If I ever have a pole barn, one of the things I have to really look at is snow load rating. No way am I going clean snow off one of those.

Never would have thought of that. Is your building insulated?

no, just the 2" garbage they put under the roof metal to prevent condensation. But a friend of mine has a fully insulated shop and he sheds his the same way. just takes longer

Middle to north GA is about to get hit with the same stuff the OP was in reference to...
Hopefully farther north where I am will get more snow than ice...

being from the south I detest snow (seen one flake seen them all) it's nice when it first covers the leaves but after that (IMO) in just plain sucks... but here I am hoping for "more snow"...go figure...!

BTW...Atlanta is ready for it this time:

Here in Oregon we need the precipitation. I figure as long as I leave the brush hog on the Kubota it will all come as snow. That theory has worked so far this winter.

We got around 14 inches of snow and after clearing some of it with my lawn tractor loader we got another 3 inches last night which covered the path in the road that I cleared yesterday.

I was gonna clear it again. But decided to wait and just let it melt as after tomorrow it's supposed to warm up. It's supposed to get to 48F on the 13th and then continue to warm up even more with an expected high of 64F on the 19th.

That's surprising this time of year here and I'll sure take the warm temps as I'm getting sick of the cold. lol

Another convert  See snow is good. I have family down by Augusta, GA that have been slow to come around to loving snow also. Maybe this'll help them too.

Here in the middle of the mitten we've had 52" of snow so far this winter, right about our average for a winter, so everything else we get is a bonus. It's been almost 8 weeks since I've seen the grass, so I scraped a little wide around the top end of the drive this week just so I could remember what it looks like.

ah, grass is over rated....all you do is have to water and mow it all the time. moving snow takes less effort
