Reminds of another quote...
You can have anything you want....you cannot have everything you want.
Story about a mechanic who wanted a Mercedes. He took no vacations, stopped eating out, drove a beater for years etc. Finially got his brand new Mercedes...paid cash. Everyone thought he was nuts....he was happy.
Am just not sure why any of us "normal" folk would buy a new MB, unless money is no object.
I just bought a 2014 MB E350 Sport, at a 75% discount from the 62K original price.
Car has 60,800 miles, no accidents, looks and drives like new.
I love it!
I am closing in on 80 years old, and could have bought a new MB, but it did not make any sense to me.
A new car does not define who I am.
I have never bought a new tractor either, but I do have 2 tractors in like new condition.
I live in a 290 year old (1730) house.
I do like "stuff", but I do not need new "stuff",..... I just want good "stuff"!
As an interesting aside:
MB dealer provided me with a
written quote of
$1034.89 for a (6) spark plug change.
I did the job myself for $64 in OEM Bosch parts.
MB dealer installed engine air filter quote was $143.50.
My OEM MANN filter E-Bay cost... $31.95
THESE rip-off examples explain why MB cars depreciate SO RAPIDLY!
