excuse to use the tractor

I've had my B1750 for 3 weeks now and finally got to use it. We have a wooded hillside behind our pond. About two years ago a fairly good size walnut had died and finally fell over from the top of the hill and had fell into the forks of a tree lower down which flipped the tree upside down. I got tired of looking at the upside down tree (I needed some excuse). I took my chainsaw and carefully trimmed branches until the tree slid down the fork some. I tied a rope around the tree hooked up the tractor and the tree came right out. Unfortunately the tree isn't any good for lumber (woodworking is one of my hobbies). Anyway it was fun to actually have a "reason" to ride the tractor if only for a few minutes!

Sometimes I just use the old "better drive it or the battery will go flat".

That normally keeps the boss at bay !

I when I was a tadpole /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif I can remember some farmer would drive there tractor also w/haying equipment to the local store for fuel and goodies..Farmalls&John Deere,Allis,Fords,at times there were half plus at the small country store..a way of life back than..no ag plates or saftey signs..heck some didn't even have lights..just a part of the past thats gone but not for gotten. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Putting up Christmas lights !

I use my tractor for about everything. We have a hemlock that we've always put lights on at Christmas - but it's gotten to be over 30' tall.

Yesterday I put the forks in the FEL and made a tie brace to hold an extension ladder going up from the bucket. With the loader full-up (about 10' - an 1150A ) I can hold an inclined ladder near the tree but not too far into it. Climbing the ladder I can reach the treetop with a hook-pole. I use another ladder to get up to the bucket.

Very stable, strong and reasonably safe (ok, not all that safe) but the tree looks great - took 1300 lights this time.
