Anyone had an excess time with the lock nuts rattling off the exhaust and the exhaust constantly being loud and haviing to replace lost nuts and ehaust seals. I'm not mechanic and maybe this is dicussed in other threads but the weight of the exhaust for the amount of work it does and vibration doesn't seem to be a good design. Not to mention early on it was pointing down at the grass. I finally had to replace a new one and got one with a side discarge. This is my biggest complaint otherwise it is a wonderful machine.

All solutions welcome

John,

I have a 2002 model 422 with the Robin stock muffler. I have 600 hours and I have removed the muffler a couple of times to work on the engine or battery. I have not had a single event of lock nuts rattling off.

My situation is similar to Dale's, manifold off numerous times but no instance yet of nuts vibrating off.

Of course, I am still wishing someone would engineer a better exhaust system and offer it for sale to the rest of us.
