exhaust pipe question re: 135

Got a 1965 2135 with continental gas engine, the Z134 I believe it is called. I ordered an exhaust pipe with muffler assembly for it from SSB Tractor parts. I got it yesterday. I am concerned that the pipe is so small it will smother the engine. The pipe leading from the exhaust manifold to the muffler is 1.5 inch O.D. which means it is 1.375 about I.D. That looks real small.
Have any of you bought the muffler assembly from SSB or the like and installed such small exhaust? Does anyone share my concern that the piping is too small?
I saw a Fordson tractor today, with a similar 134 ci engine and it had a tiny exhaust pipe leading away from the muffler, about the same size as the one I bought. So, should I worry about it or just install it and be done with it?

The exhaust on my 69' 135 (Z134) is 1.5 inch OD, sounds as though you have the right part by your description.

Thanks for the reply Mike. I think I'll just chamfer the flange a bit where the pipe joins to the exhaust manifold, so exhaust gases flow better into the pipe.

The exhaust pipe on my Ferguson TO-35 with the Z134 engine is also 1.5 inch OD . Remember that tractor engines run at low rpms ( 2000 max. for this engine) and have conservative horsepower ratings for long life. So, they don't put out the volume of exhaust that a high winding automotive engine of the same cubic inches would produce, and therefore don't need a large diameter exhaust. In fact, it's rare to ever even run a tractor engine at full power output and maximum rpm.

Thanks for the reply. I went ahead and installed the pipe I got from SSB and it seems to work fine, although I haven't done any plowing or hard work with the tractor yet. But I'm now confident it will serve the purpose. Thanks again.
