Exhaust stacks with tonneau cover

Some people have been asking me about my stacks so I made this thread. I was tired of burning things so I made this. I built a frame out of angle iron and then bolted the diamond plate to it. I then used chrome acorn nuts to finish it off. The last picture is of the truck with the tonneau cover on. I had the tonneau cover custom made which was not too expensive. With all the materials, including the tonneau, I spent $225. I think it turned out nice. Here are a few pictures...

No they don't really get that hot. I can stick my hand on the stacks for a second or two when the trucks running.

Ok, cool (no pun intended) You got a patent on that? I think I will do something along the same lines. Rather than a snap on cover though, I am looking to get an accesscover rollup tonneau. I don't recall whether or not I'll be able to adjust the length short enough. I think the tarp can be shortened. The mounting hardware may require some fabrication however.

When I bought my Truxedo roll up velcro cover, there was an option for 8 or 6.5ft beds with or without a tool box. That would give you the room for stacks without the need for custom orders.

Either way, that stack setup on your truck is even more impressive with the custom diamond plate and bed cover.

Yeah, I initiallly thought about just getting a cover for 6.5 foot bed. But that options leave 1.5 feet of open space between the end of the cover and the front of the bed, that still needs to be closed off. I had a truxedo on my '06 and I wasn't happy with it. I liked the accesscover that was on my '01 much, much better. Thanks for the recommendation though!

No patent haha! I would see if you can get one shortened. I was suprised when they said they would. Also I don't exactly think that the snap covers are the best either but, it rarely ever comes off. I always hook up a trailer anyhow.
