Still no movement on the case so I picked up a Springfield Armory XDS 45. Wow! Sure do like the feel of this and the slimness of single stack. Same or less perceived recoil even with the bigger caliber.

Very nice! XD 45 packs some punch. Maybe a touch harder to hide in your pocket, but a very nice weapon. I am surprised they are taking so long on this second round recall. Hope you get your new G2 sooner than later.

In case anyone is watching this thread or considering a Taurus... I still have a useless Millennium while waiting for this case to be settled. So thankful I bought the SA XDS.

I hate to hear this, and it does make me leary of Taurus in general, despite my good fortune.

My replacement 24/7 is one of my favorite handguns - so much so that it has become my "travel" vehicle handgun. I'm probably close to 1000 rounds of (mostly cheap) ammo having been run through it, and I've had maybe one or two jams, and those were probably due to either poor ammo or technique. I've not had any failures with my carry ammo.

I also picked up a Taurus 709 that I really like as a CCW piece, and it too is trouble free.

My little 738 had been tempermental until I finally noticed that it was one particular magazine that was causing all of the problems. Since I've quite using it, no problems either.

However, I may be an isolated incident to have such relatively good luck with Taurus.

I've got an SA XDM in .45 that I bought several years ago and I love,love,love it. An XDS is definately on my want list.

I've had 5 or 6 Taurus revolvers over the years....still have three of them (two Model 85's and a Model 627 Tracker).
Other then one Model 669, I've never had any problems. The model 669 was repaired and returned in about 30 days.
I think their revolvers are great

That said, I've never had a Taurus semi-auto pistol. Friends and acquaintances have had them and several had problems with the gun, but not the service or warranty.

Sorry to hear this. Sounds like a raw deal. I feel bad for getting in on the early end of the recall now... Our replacement went smooth as can be, but they certainly should have continued to follow through with the new requests as they came in.

Unrelated silver lining is that firearms deals are getting better and better every day was we thankfully "dodged a bullet" in November! God Bless America!

Same here.....I have a 357 mag revolver from Taurus.....bought it at least 20 years ago.......great gun....no problems....shoots well.

I like my PT145, PT111G2 so well, I bought another Taurus last week. A PT738. Not a problem with any of them
