I've been looking for some kind of stabilizer system that would allow me to use the extension ladder safely on uneven ground. I've done a number of online searches, but it seems like most things I find aren't that highly rated by users.

Any positive recommendations from someone here who has used this kind of a system that they can point me to?

I have used the Levelok system on my extension ladders. Not cheap, about $90. These work very well on uneven ground.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT Thats what I have on all my ground ladders and I use them every day. They are cheap if you consider the consequences: ambulance, hospital room, lost time at work if you go back at all. Spend the money and buy them before you get hurt.

The few times I needed to make my ladder safe I have used my FEL to hold my ladder. Sure wont work for every situation but my property is mostly level.

Thanks, Joe. The reviews I'm seeing for this system seem to reflect the positive feedback expressed here. I'll go ahead and buy something by mid-week, and so far this is on the top of the list.

I found a ladder on the side of the interstate with a system on it that work great just jiggle the ladder up and down a couple of times and they lock in the correct place every time, made by wagner. I LOVE it and every one who uses my ladder gets mad at me and says now I have to buy a set for my ladder.

Here's how I cleaned my gutters last year.

The TBN safety inspectors gave me a hard time here.

After reading your thread and knowing it is gutter cleaning time again, I just order these ladder levelers Louisville Ladder LP-2300-00 Ladder Leveler for $59.00. They got very good reviews on Amazon. Some of the levellers only extended 8" which probably won't be enough for me. The one I just ordered extends to 15".

Everytime that I try to use my ladder on that section of house, I dread it. Maybe this year it will be better. I also bought a Louisville ladder standoff/stabilizer a few months ago and that was a great purchase. It makes the ladder much sturdier when climbing up two stories.

If its not very far off level you can fold one of the feet up and leave the other down on the ladder and make up a few inches.
