When pulling my manure spreader, the control levers often make serious contact with the 2230's lift arms (in up or down positions). Are they any pre-fab extensions out there that will give me more space between the hole in the back of the tractor and the hole in the tongue of the spreader? It's particularly bad when the spreader is on higher ground than the tractor.

I don't know of any extensions other than making a longer draw bar or even easier would be to have the tongue on your spreader lengthened. That way all other implements don't need to have adjustments.

Any guy that knows how to weld pretty good can do.

Can you adjust the control levers? If not, can they be modified? That is probably easier and safer than fiddling with hitch strength and load geometry. Not to mention the PTO if it is PTO driven.

Non-PTO. Thanks for the input.

Jay here;s a thought for you, instead of lengthening the draw-bar add a receiver tube like we did. Then you can use 2 X 2 square tube to make different length draw-bars, When finished you can remove them and not have to worry about banging you shins.

I like Pine Ridge's idea. Also, could you take some flat stock and weld it over your existing hitch and then drill holes? Not sure if you have the access to stuff to do that, I know I don't, unless I pay for it /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Hmmm just noticed you said "pre-fab". Crud. Is there a place that sells replacement drawbars where you could get a longer one for a different tractor with fitting heigth and width dimensions?

Yes. I like both ideas. However, I don't have "access" nor skill to do that stuff. Thank you both. Perhaps I can drive my Kubota on the PA Turnpike and Pine can take care of it. Nice shot of the NH.
