What does everyone do with all the little tools like Allen wrenches that come with just about everything that requires assembly?

I'd hate to just throw them away. Can they be melted down and used to make something else? ImageUploadedByTapatalk1452466813.233543.jpg

I check my "odd tool" drawer in my toolbox first. If I already have that one, I throw it away. If not, I add it to the collection. :)

Yea, most times I add the allen wrenches to my collection. Those throw away wrenches get.....well...... thrown away.

I save the Allen wrenches. I'm always loosing those. I throw away the throw away wrenches.

I scrap them for metal.

I keep them taped up to the underside or the wall facing part of whatever I put together just in case I ever need to take them apart I know they will be there for sure.

I throw them away. They arent made for real use. Material they are made with is way too soft to be used on a real bolt. All you will di is mess up the bolt and make it that much harder to get out with a real hex key. And most arent even stamped with a size:mur:

I usually throw them in the toolbox. No good reason for that, just force of habit!

I too throw them away but there is still a few samples in my garage tool box that is strictly for use inside the house. You wont find any in my shop tool boxes.

I typically throw them in the junk drawer. That is pretty much what they are, and if I ever need to tighten something it's there. If I can get one use out of them before bending them up, I;m generally doing good.

These, and old worn out tools go into a 2.5 gallon bucket. The bucket sits on an out of the way shelf. I also put a bucket of iron in the bottom of my ballast box with a concrete cap.

Yeah, usually throw them in a misc drawer but sometimes I cut them off straight so I can chuck them in a drill/driver for fast assembly knowing I have plenty of 'real' ones.

Like LD1 said, they're so cheaply made that they're not usually worth keeping. I just threw away a bunch of that kind of junk. I don't think there was anything that I didn't have a "real" tool duplicate for.

On other things like tools I replace before they're worn out, gifts I don't really need, etc. I lay back and give to my son or son-in-law. Doubt they need 175 cheap allen wrenches, but they do appreciate occasional tools. :)

I save them for relatives who want to borrow a tool.

does, "they dont make it out of the package" count? i generally dont bother with them because they are so cheep, Ill use my own (quality) tools to do the assembly.
