Extra fees for financing added to the quoted price

We had an interesting experience on the last car we bought. I just casually mentioned to my wife that we should look at a new car and see if they would sell it to us for the same monthly payments as the previous one. So we started shopping around. We said no to the offered cars 4 times because they all had added a few dollars to the monthly payment. Finally after the 5th offer we said yes. I learned something out of that whole process. I probably still have more to learn but with today's economy it probably won't happen soon.

There is a good chance it did not get teleported there. The further it is trucked from the distribution point to the dealership, the more the dealer pays. Those costs do not evaporate when the tractor sits on the lot.

None that I ever had dealings with. And there are charges nonetheless.

If a tractor, or auto dealer, wants to add shipping, or bogus fees, after the agreed price, then I will simply provide him with the opportunity to continue to keep his lot well stocked, by not buying from him.

That's my main concern here. I had a final price (PDI, delivery blabla all included) and then, surprise, this added lender prep/documentation fee. It does not help that I see some Ag lenders have a set fee (ie AgDirect, $150) and say the dealer is free to charge more...

Its the never-ending attempts to extract more money from customers in ways that seem like the fees are out of the dealers control.

Same as ADMIN fees on a used car. Last one I bought years ago when they just started the scam, I asked what it was for, the stealers reply, "lot lighting, security etc" my answer to that is that it's not my lights etc and walked...............Mike

I have had four different sources, one being my credit union, tell me that the loan origination fee is between $35-50.

The others being a friend I went to high school with that is a long time salesman at a local Jeep-Ram dealer, a friend that works at a dealer in another state, and a friend who is the finance guy / proprietor of a power sports dealer.
