Does anyone know the output of the stock alternator on a BX2200 ? I have searched but can not find anything on TBN. I want to add some lights, but do not know how many I can add before causing electric problems. I was thinking of adding 3- 50 watt lights on ROPS, one in the rear for the snow blower and one or two in the front. It would be great if I could run all the lights at the same time, if possible. With the FEL on you do not get much light from the headlights.
Thanks for your help.

Tom,

I don't know the answer, but I wouldn't count on any more than 20 to 30 Amps from the alternator. Your current demand with three lights, from the alternator is ~ 14 amps (use 55 watts, which is a more popular light size) Use of a separate switch for the lights is a good idea to remove the stress from the tractor main switch. About the only time I can think of that you would overload a 20 to 30 AMP alternator would be if the battery was way down and all your lights were on.

I added 2 55 Watt halogens to my BX and haven't had any problems with it whatsoever. I posted what I did on this forum, and if you do a search, you should find all the details, complete with photos.....
