So I take it you are not going to follow up on my suggestion of just having the wife stand on it?

Michigan Mike.... I get a lot of funny looks but I had a clean Pontiac 428 engine block laying around. I strapped it down with ratchet straps... works great.

Bob,
I liked your idea, but not what my wife suggested when I mentioned it to her. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I took the easy way out, and bought a few cinder blocks, and fashioned a platform out of a 2x10.
I was able to put 5 blocks on it, and that gave me enough extra weight to get the job done yesterday.
Thanks to everyone for the ideas and suggestions.

I haven't tried it yet, but how about strapping a 30 gallon drum on the disc and then filling it with water. Water is a little over 8 pounds per gallon so that would be about 250 pounds.

I built a horiz drum rack onr my 6;5" disc for 55gal poly drum, fill drum with water when needed-drain when not needed. Adjustable weight ...and easy to remove, and put on my 3pt counterweight bracket which is set up vertical.

I like the idea of using water. I could also use the drum to carry water for my 80 newly planted trees.
