Extra wire?

It seams my 3000 had 2 wires in both fenders as well. One was a warning flasher, the other a running light. Rear lights had 2 elements. If you have the flasher on the light switch, switch to that position, measure 12v between wire and a good ground, will show intermittent. Had lots of electrical problems with that tractor, ( think it was used in water ) cleaning up the ground wires solved most of them.

It appears the lamps are single element. Only one fender has an extra wire. My best guess is that CLemsonfor had the right idea. Assuming the extra wire was tied to +12v (which I think it might have been), it would make sense that the wire was for a work light.

Mine has an extra too which IIRC is green?

Think mine is red (don't remember for sure--I'm too lazy to go out and look), but that might be due to overspray when the tractor was brought over here and repainted.
