Got my EZtrac yesterday (445 with 54" High Capacity(HC) deck). This thing is too much fun to be a lawn mower! Blew away 2 or 3 acres with some high grass really fast.

Glad I traded my 62D deck up to the 445. No more hassles changing the deck out every time I wanted to use the BH. On the 2 series you have to remove the front BH mounts everytime you want to use the mower. Read the specs, JD says the two aren't compatable.

Having a dedicated mower is the cat's meow! Figure out how much it will cost for a 62D deck and then figure the price of the Ztracs, for me it was worth the extra money.

Sounds like you are having too much fun.

BTW: If JD made the 260 so you can't mow with it I'd be surprised. It looks a lot like my BH6000 on my 2305 (I bought the BH6000 before JD offered a BH for the 2305). I can leave that on with the 62D and mow with it. I did need to get the hydraulic lift kit to do this but it works pretty cool. Now when I do that it's some extra weight but it works well.

Orlo,
I think that's a good method if your going to mow and don't have a dedicated machine like the 445.

I was thinking of doing the same thing. I was worried I wouldnt get anything for my 62D though. Do you mind me asking what to expect on trade for a low hour 62D?

Most likely you'll do better selling it privately. My choice was easier as the 62D is different for the 2720 which I updated to. I got in the mid teens for it in very good shape.( My dealer looks out for me so I won't give the exact price here as a favor to him). Frankly I thought it was a pain and glad to be rid of it.
If you have it on a dedicated machine then that's ok but if you run the BH and other implements like I do then forget it.
Also, how many acres are you mowing? That's an important point too. Talk to your dealer and let him know you're thinking about a zero turn. He might give you a better deal.
For everyone with 62D decks I'm not trying to diss' you. I went for the 62D too and it mows fine except for the hydro lift that keeps dropping out. For you new guys thinking about a 2 series, think about a zero especially if you have the 46 BH.(Even Deere says they're not compatable)
