I was curious how much everyone (John) greases the spindles on the decks of the F series. My manual says every day, but an email to Kubota said probably every 8 hours is fine, since I am not using it commercially.

I use a Milwaukee electric grease gun, so the amount of grease per "pump" is less than a pump with the hand held models (in my opinion). Greasing other joints, you can look for new grease to come out to know everything is covered...how do I know I am giving the spindle to much / not enough grease?

I just grease my f2690 around 8 to 10 hours.

How do you like the miwaukee grease gun, is it the 12 or 18 volt. Been looking at the 18 volt, can purchase it for around 199.00 with battery and charger.

Somewhere I heard every 10 hours. Wish I could say I have done it that often but if I said I did it would be a lie. I'm going to try and do it at around that hours from now on. Grandson has taken over most mowing duties so I can have more time for maintaining. I have a air powered grease gun and go till I see grease.
I just ordered and rec'd the Lock n Lube and will see how it works for individual person doing the greasing. My current one seems to want to not let go till I bend and jerk it, I know I can twist the tip to loosen it but then it's get it back to the right tight to get it to hang on or even go on some times..

Where do you see grease coming out at? I noticed while changing blades this weekend, the spindle cover near the blade has a hole and I'm guessing that is for excess grease to come out of? Should the spindle cover be filled inside?

I have the M18 Milwaukee grease gun (all my other tools are M18) and I love it. I find myself actually doing the PM greasing and it's so much faster. I purchased the Lock N Lube over the winter and have started using it this year and it's really handy.

I personally grease the spindles after every mow. I usually spend 3 - 4 hours cutting each time I mow (A small shot on the gun). I also mow in a very sandy environment so I add a little grease to stay on top of it...Not excessive amounts, but just enough to form a barrier.

I would recommend the grease gun. It's more money than I wanted to pay when I first got it but now I love it. I fly through all of the grease joints in no time. The 4 foot hose is nice and there is an LED light on it if you need it. My only complaint is I wish I knew how much one "pump" on the Milwaukee compares to a pump on the hand gun I used to use.

My regiment....grease the mower spindles every time...just a bit...before each 4 hour mowing. Grease everything else every third mow, so all the rest get hit about 12 hours.

NOW having said that, going to change and hit every zerk on the mower deck before each mowing. At 490 hrs...the sleeves on the front tires on the deck are giving out, in fact it the reason I'm on here is to post about that. I would say like of proper greasing contributed to this. I need to repair/replace that before the next mowing. Where can I get parts for those other than from the dealer?

I need to do a better job greasing, and father's day is coming around, m18 grease gun sounds pretty good. I've had the problem with pulling the grease gun off of the zerk fitting. Didn't think I would get it off of one fitting on the bx2680. Have the lock and lube but some fittings are hard to get to. Nothing is easy anymore.

One thing for sure is I like my "F".

I'll add...battery driven grease gun along with lock.n.lube is worth the money to me. Got no excuse for not lubing those wheels more other than i thought every 12 hours was adequate....guess not.

You'll be happy with the grease gun...just stock up on grease...it'll go a little faster, but your machine will be well maintained! I greased the front half of the machine last night. First time with Lock n Lube. Couldn't reach the wheel bearings so I used the hose whip that you can buy with the Lock n Lube - basically to get back to a normal grease gun fitting. That worked slick and gave me another foot of hose.

Purchased the m18 milwaukee grease gun with battery for 199.00 plus tax. Regular price 269.99 plus tax. So I am happy camper. Will have to stock up on grease like you said. What is the part number for the "hose whip", I couldn't find that. Thanks
