Hello All - I am in the process of installing a Koyker 110 on an F16 that I have and I was wondering about a couple of things. First, does anyone know what the functionality of the Power Beyond setup on this model is? I installed a Koyker on a 1500 a few weeks ago and it did not have this feature. The hydraulic plumbing seems the same on this F16 as it was on the 1500, pump to tranny supply and tranny to pump return. Is this for some kind of auxiliary port setup?

Second, anyone know if I will have to cut the frame on this model (and if so, how much have you taken off)? It took me a little by surprise the last time when I went to fit the loader on the 1500 and it wouldn't quite make it! The fix was easy enough, it just would have been nice to have some warning and some rough measurements to double check against.

I like these Koyker's and don't have any trouble with the schematics, but some sequencing instructions and the aforementioned measurements would be very helpful.

Thanks for any help,
Matt

Oh yeah, while I'm at it, how 'bout a Napa crossover for the hydraulic filter?

The hydraulic filter is a Wix 51229, which makes it a 1229 Napa I think.

The PB setup is the better way to plumb a loader. It keeps the three-point and the loader from ever arguing with each other when both need flow. We've installed dozens both ways and seldom have a problem with the 2-hose plumbing method, but the PB method is preferred and better and Koyker is migrating the 2-hoses sytems to PB's.

Dave - Thanks for the info and the filter number. I must say though, I just don't understand how this three hose system works. Maybe I'm just thinking about it too much. I understand the supply to the loader valve, and I'm assuming the PBY continues the supply loop to the tranny/ 3pt. But I don't understand where the third hose is going, plus it has a tee with a fourth hose going somewhere else? I think I'll call Koyker tomorrow to see if they can shed some light on this for me.

Wait, I think I might have it! Does the return from the joystick actually plumb into the return line to the pump? If so, the "t" makes sense so that the loop is continuous if you have the loader disconnected. I think my hang up is with the return because on the 1500 the "return" was actually the "supply" to the 3 pt.

Now the only question I might have is the best way to connect the adapter and the elbow to the return line?

One hose feeds pressure to the valve, another continues the pressure (PB) loop and the third goes to tank. Have Koyker fax you the correct hose kit instruction sheet. If you do this wrong and start the tractor you can ruin the pump in about 1/2 a second. It's a $300 mistake...and don't ask me how I know that.

The "PB" is supposed to be hosed to the 3 point and the "out" on the valve goes to the sump. There is no easy way to do that on greys, some people build an adapter that fits in the tranny fill hole that the "out" hose attaches to it. Built into the valve is a pressure release so if you had a plugged line or you put too much pressure on the pump the valve is supposed to bypass the flow to the tank till the pressure drops. That is what the "out" port is for on your valve. Normally the oil is flowing from pump to "in" then out the "PB" through the 3point then to sump. Any overpressure fluid is supposed to go through the "out" on the valve to the sump. Not using a "BP" valve is OK for a while but long term it is really hard on the valve.

Buck, thanks for the info. If I understand you correctly, there is typically no fluid flowing through this line unless an over-pressure situation is created? The instructions that Koyker faxed to me are not that great. They have a stub out coming out of the valve body for the 3 pt. and then have a hose "t"-ing off to the sump from the loader valve body. But that doesn't really make sense with what I have to work with because the pby line needs to go back on the valve body. Do they want me to remove another of the port bolts in the 3 pt valve body and t off of that?

I haven't cracked it open yet, but I think the port on the side of the transmission housing will allow me to plumb the return hose into the sump. I attached a picture, has anyone used that port as a return?

I'll also attach the instructions Koyker faxed me so you guy's can see what I am talking about. I plan on working on this tonight after work, but I am trying to be careful so I don't screw anything up.

My FX26D has hydraulic lines coming out at the bottom of the rightside (sitting on tractor) floorboard that I connected my loader to. Once you have connected the hoses you raise the seat and switch a valve and you are in business. Does your's not have those hydro lines?
