Tractor
Yanmar / F15D
I already own an F15D and I'm looking at another tractor that's a little bigger and I ran across a F175D. Is this a typo?
Has anyone ever heard of this model? The tractor looks very nice and has 415 hours on it.
Is this tractor an F17? Is their such a model.
Picture attached.

I have seen 2 or three references to F175's on the web. Usually the 3 digit models were made for the US and the digits represent engine HP (not PTO hp as on the grey's). Using this assumption a F175 would have a 17.5 engine hp. Having a ROPS implies made for the US. On a google search I found 2 references to yanmar F175. One had a picture without a ROPs though. The D would imply 4wd which the picture in your attachment would imply since the front tires have traction cleats.

YM's with three digits arer US models, F series with three digits are newer F-series, not US models. I've had several F and FX215's and they are real nice. Last one was a 93 model.

I think that the 3 digit F-series tractors are just new models than the F15s or F20s, etc (I--er, my wife--has an F16D). I don't believe that these models were ever made for import to the US, and I might also caution that the ROPS may not be a ROPS at all, but rather a support for the canopy - I've heard that caution before.

Good luck with your search. Take it easy.

Re: the ROPS, I have had quite a few 3-digit F-series with canopies, and you are right, they are not roll bars. I did have a F46D with a ROPS/Canopy. Dave

I had an FX175D for a while. I used it around the house before selling it. It was a very fine tractor. It had a few neat features. It would turn sharper than anything I have had before or since. I ordered a parts manual for it when I got it. It just came in this week. The cool thing about it, IT IS IN ENGLISH!! I just wish I had kept it now. If you decide not to get this one, please mail me the location. reeds@midwest.net.

Hi, I have a similar model that needs a ROPS. Would you be so kind as to take a rear view picture of the 175 so I could see how it is mounted? thanks. brett w

I have a FX175D. I also have the English parts manual which is very helpful. From what I can find out the FX175D is a 3CYL Diesel, (X)Powershift, (D)4WD, .994 L engine, MFG Date of 87(stamped on rear rims) and it lists the power as 17.5 PS. It has lots of nice features and I really like the Powershift. I think the photo in the thread is a canopy and not a ROPS. My welder friend and myself are considering making a rollbar/ROPS in the future. Plans anyone? I bought mine from a private party who wanted a larger Yanmar. Mine has an Allied 95 FEL, 400hrs and has been painted green and yellow by an Importer in the Northwest(WA) I think. I have owned gas tractors in the past and I am somewhat concerned about the diesel in MN. This tractor has glow plugs in each cyl and a compression release so I should workout. My only problem so far has been getting an air filter, and a blank key( new style key is ordered from Japan). I hope parts availabity and popularity of the new F-series will be better in the future.
