It ended up being debris in the fuel tank. A small piece of leaf would block off the fuel inlet.

Recently my F3990 has started stalling when mowing. it doesn't appear to be losing power, just stop running. It always starts right up without hesitation immediately after so I can continue mowing.

I replaced both fuel filters and it worked fine for a few weeks, but has started up again. I blew out the fuel hose from the first filter into the tank, but that didn't do anything. When I look at the fuel level in the first filter, the one between the pump and the tank, it is never more than 20% full. Is this normal?

Any suggestions on what I can look into next?

thanks
I had the same problem and wired around the seat sensor and it fixed mine....js
