Fact or BS?

I heard you should NOT use synthetic oil for Tier 4 Engines.

Is this true? Sounds like BS to me.

My Kubota dealer says that he runs Rotella T6 in his tractor.

I think it's BS also. I bought my 2009 Kubota brand new. Asked the dealer about using synthetic engine oil. He said it was OK but, also, a waste of money. Standard dino oil was what the manufacturer recommended. Same with the hydraulic oil.

Actually the newer Kubotas say SUDT in the owner’s manual.

You are right - jyoutz. My 2018 Ram Power Wagon uses 0W30 synthetic oil.

Definitely BS they come from factory with full synthetic in them !! My 4701 with 10w-30w synthetic what I use 500 hrs.

I've been using Shell Rotella T6 Full Synthetic for the last 9 years in my MF1635, I think by now I would know if it was bad for it.

I ended buying 2.5 gallons of T6 Rotella full synthetic 5W-40 Diesel rated oil at Tractors Supply.

There were many empty shelves so the selection was very limited.

Just happy to still get something good - regardless of initial cost.
