Factory Settings: SPENCER Mail-O-Gauge

I've been following the numerous posts on Spencers clever notion of round-robining a pressure gauge cross country to TBN folks who want to tweak their loader valves.

It seems at one point, it even mysteriously got replaced!

Anyway ... assuming (or not) that all who directly participated had the NH L7308 loader. Importantly, there is a list that gets updated by the guys where they post before and after pressure results.

The REAL question I have is ... why the wild swing on the original factory setting to begin with? Is this a variable that arises from Loader setup at the dealer for instance?

Just guessing here but I'd say the difference arises from the factory adjusting the valve by the number of turns on the screw and then the dealer doesn't check it after installation. To defend the dealers they may not know that they should.

Another possibility is that after several operations the valve drifts from the original setting.

In all honesty, unless you visit TBN you'd probably never know there was a problem with your setting whatever it was. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

How many models was this loader intended for. Does it have the same rating on each? Many loaders have different break out and lift capacities depending on the tractor. This is set by the Relief Valve setting. the only Loader manual I have in front of me right now is for a 770B which is for a 1310,1510,1710, and 1910. On the 1310,1510,1710 an "inline non adjustable relief valve of 1600 psi" must be used where as on the 1910 it runs with no pressure relief. On a 1710 the breakaway ia 1650 lbs where as on the 1910 it is 2200 lbs. Which models does the 7109 fit?
