Fall foliage

Great pictures of the fall colors. Here in Washington, the evergreen state, we get a wide variety of color. From evergreen rain forests to ever brown desert. I happen to be in the desert part, eastern Washington. But even with the sparseness of color, I love the fall.

Man Pete, that is too nice. Our trees are just starting to turn here in the South, but I don't think they will get that nice. Thanks for the photo.

OK, instead of posting all my pictures I put up a test website you can see here. All the pics are about 250K so if you don't have a high speed connection, you might not want to look at anything but the thumnails.

The deep reds in new england are typically red maples, which I don't think grow in texas.

Hmm, I don't know much about trees, and there may be others, but the only maple I know of in Texas is the silver leaf maple.

Out here in Californy, we're having yet another heat wave -- 90+ degrees and sunny. /w3tcompact/icons/cool.gif Pretty soon, the only color we'll have out here is brown. /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

So after looking at all the beautiful pictures in this thread -- and after watching the news today and over the past several weeks -- I walked out of the house this evening and was struck by the simplicity and fullness of this scene.

We do live in a beautiful country. And it goes far beyond the beauty of its landscapes.
