Fall seeding when is it too late?

I have heard the same thing about keeping your fescue (yard grass) shorter going into the winter, but does this also apply to orchard grass or other pasture grasses?

Interesting. I wonder if its because we don't really get frozen ground here. Well it freezes a couple inches deep until the storm passes or the next warm front moves in and then it thaws again. Also, new grass sprouts getting taller means thicker and healthier, this is different than cutting established lawn real short for winter.

Our winters are real mild compared to most people near Canada. Pretty hard to do it wrong.
