Falwell and Robertson say U.S. deserved it

In 1982-83 I worked at a "gated community" in South Florida. Place was huge. It had three types of areas. One for houses, another for villas, and a third for condos. All the villas and condo areas had a pool There were 19 pools and at least one maybe maybe two 18 hole golf courses. I'm guessing the my parents house at the time cost 100K. The houses in this place had to have been 300K+ 20 years ago.

A big time TV crook, errr, evangilist and his family lived at this place. They owned two or three houses as well as a couple of villas. Easily well over a million dollars just at this one locations. One day I noticed a letter had been posted in the pool areas. The letter was from the evangilist and had been sent to people in Canada. The letter was begging for money, how it was desperately needed, how Satan was conspiring to shut down this guys operation, etc. Furthermore the letter told the receiver to NOT tell anyone about the communication. Basically, give me the money but don't tell anyone. /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif Or to put it another way, he and is family needed the money to pay the mortgages and get some new Mercs.....

Obviously someone in the community could not stand the preacher and posted the note all over the place.

What Falwell and Robertson said is sickening. They must be honorary members of the Taliban.

Hope they (the gated-community preachers) enjoy this life, 'cause it may not be to pleasant afterwards.

On the way home from work I heard one of the local radio stations comment that they were doing some major backpeddling, but the truth hurts, dont it. So GOD doesn't love us apes anymore, so he sent another one to kill us off is the point he is making. Wonder why they don't live in NYC? I guess the good people of NY wouldn't have either of them.

The comments made by these two men only show their self-righteousness. They seem to be good at putting the blame on other people when they are just as guilty as the other guy.

These two guys should know better. I have taught an adult Bible class for the past 10 years. The Bible says that there are none that are righteous, everyone has sinned and that includes Jerry and Pat, but saome how they forgot. If it wasn't for the grace of God we all would be toast.

Jerry and Pat were way out of line here. Reminds me of the self-righteous Pharisee's back 2000 years ago. There are many good Christain's out there who get a bad rap because someone like these two makes a false stupid statement like this one.

I'm not ashamed to say that God is our only hope and that my hope is in God. But, I don't want to be identified with either one of them.

What, a MODERATE religious person?

I thought they were non existant, with the constant news of the Taliban, Bin Laden, and their kissin' cousins, Falwell and Robertson.
