Morningland Dairy is the latest attempt by the FDA to fulfill the Healthy People 2020 objective to kill raw dairy. Morningland is owned by Joseph and Denise Dixon, who operate the cheese plant and make raw cheese from cows kept right on the property and managed by one of their eldest daughters. They have 12 children, 4 who still live at home, and they have been actively engaged in real food for decades. They were caught up in the Rawesome Raid dragnet and many believe the questionable California Dept of Food and Agriculture tests on their cheese are the legal justification for the multi-agency guns drawn raid at Rawesome.

...hey have been ordered by the Missouri Milk Board to destroy ALL of their cheese without actual tests being performed on the cheese stock. This is nearly 50,000 pounds of cheese, or approximately $250,000.

Its pathetic isnt it. They've been making cheese like this for a thousand year. And I remember when milk was poured into pails and left sitting on the front fence. I don't recall anyone dying from that either.

Irony is, its predicted that, for just about the first time in history, todays generation (our kids) could have a shorter average lifespan than their parents due to all the junk food, preservatives, additives, and god knows what else thats in todays 'healthy' food.

This is caused by the larger companies that want to kill the small farmers. Its the large companies that write the rules for the FDA to follow, it will get worse. :(

Well ... its terrible. What if anything can we do? Not to make any political issues ... seems as if all of us just set back and continue to let things happen ... how do we the people get control?

There's no doubt this does suck...

However...if there was an outbreak of some kind of food poisoning from the sale of this cheese, what would your reactions be then?

Well in a way I agree with you. I believe the article stated no test were done.

I get you Roy but when will it stop? There are outbreaks of food poisoning all the time from "modern" food supply sources. I'd rather there be standards for raw foods too versus not having a choice to even get them.

Funny thing is ... they put soooo much onus on the producers to keep food safe, but, then the buyers keep it for longer than is safe in a fridge which they have no idea of the proper temperature/function.

So many people keep meat/eggs/dairy in the door, where the temperature fluctuates more dramatically, don't keep an eye on the temperature inside so even at the best of times the temperature can be off by a few degrees, and then ignore best before dates because they believe it to be a conspiracy ...
