I should have taken pictures of the mess I had here in Bama a few weeks back, but I was too embarrassed. Triple axle dump-truck got stuck up to his axles delivering a load of dirt and got my JD stuck trying to get to him (forgot I had turned off 4WD). Took a backhoe about an hour to get the both of us out. Backhoe was impressive, lifted the back end of that truck up with his hoe and drove him out of that mess. Had to move my building site after that fiasco. After $5K more worth of dirt, gravel, dozer, and track hoe work I should start the building after Memorial Day. Expensive lesson on site preparation and gave me a lot more respect for the road building crews too.

No, I don't have come along. Always thinking I should get one, but so far it did not happen.

In my former life - overseas - we used come along to pull trees out of the ground, I know they are great for many applications.

Harbor Freight has some cheap come alongs. Bought a 4 ton from them on the good to hang around theory. Haven't tried it yet, but seems to me it falls under the "tough for HF to screw it up" tool category

I was thinking the same thing, buy you said it first. I'm all for tearing up the ground and getting muddy, so it's as good a reason as any. Off roading in the Kubota!!!!
