Using our Jinma 204 with our chipper on the back the other day. Nephew came to get me to tell me the fan broke and went through the radiator. New parts on order.
What could cause this and how do we check that when we get it back together it doesn't happen again? I put a few squirts of grease in the water pump fitting the other day. That's the only thing that we can think of that has been different.
Thank you.

Hey Randy,

It would have helped if you had been there to actually see what happened.

But you did say that you were using your chipper, so I am assuming that you were chipping up limbs and such.

I am only guessing,, but I suspect that the end of one of the limbs also fell in that direction or was accidentally pushed into the fan/radiator area. This is only a guess, but when you said that the fan went through the radiator, then, that is what I am guessing happened.

Have a nice day,
Joe

The fan and then the radiator. I kinda figure it in that order.

No stick through the radiator, just the fan. Nephew would've told me.

This is not an unheard of failure. I recommend inspecting fan for cracks periodically Be sure fan is not contacting shroud also.
