Farewell to The Boss

Loaded her up this morning and hauled down to my dealer. I really did like the Boss plow, but I think the new K-Connect blower is going to outperform it in every way.

Got to look at a completed setup on the showroom floor. You can get to the front diff drain bolt, but it don't look like fun.

Pardon my ignorance but What is the power source for that blower? Does that ATV have a PTO that runs at full speed while allowing the tranny to creep along like an HST tractor.

If you have a gravel driveway always use skids or gauge wheels.
Even then you'll throw a few rocks.

The nice thing about a blower, is that you touch the snow once and it's gone. Not pushing it anywhere and getting large banks. But like Ray said, a nice good base is key. I do agree that you're gonna love the upgrade, nicely done!

Sweet! I've always wanted a rig like that for my 15 rural residential drives I do. I rarely need to salt or sand, but currently doing it with a push spreader isn't much fun.
I can't imagine the service interval is that frequent on a front differential?

My guess and that's all it is since i didn't look it up, is that it has a separate hydro pump for the blower hydraulics. I would imagine some form of power is needed for that spreader as well.

Hello all. I'm still patiently waiting for dealer to get finished with install. Their shop has been swamped. Was a real stupid time of year for me to decide this, LOL.
A few answers to some comments.
I am experienced with the use of blowers, been using a rear blower on my tractors, so I know the importance of having a good base.

This unit uses a drop box off the transmission and has a PTO with the yellow knob, same as new tractors have, and it uses a driveshaft to the front.
But instead of using the RTV's hydraulics to power the chute rotation and deflector, it has a hydraulic power pack on front that is pretty much the same as a Boss plow....electric motor driving a hydraulic pump.

And front diff oil change interval is 400 hours, so it won't be that bad. Just going to need a very short ratchet/socket combo to get in there.
