After 8 years of restoration and a year of fighting with the BMV I took our Farm Jeep for a legal spin today. It is not finished. Still working on the pump for the 3pt hitch. Wasn't sure where to post, but since I plan on taking it (driving it!) to at least one antique tractor show next spring, I thought this might do.
We paid $250 for the jeep in '03. That was a cash payment made in a farmer's field, so no title or even a bill of sale. We were going to use it as a parts jeep, but decided to rebuild it instead. The motor and ID tags had been sold before we got to the jeep and the BMV wasn't going to let me title it without a BoS. But after 4 different police officer inspections, a trip to my lawyer and a whole bunch of late fees (including failing to pay sales tax and not registering it back in '03) I got to mount the 1949 plates today.
