I don't get it. With each successive post you agree with more and more of what I've been saying all along. You're pretty much saying the same things I am, but you're right and I'm still wrong. The clutchs are not adjusted from the box "We agree",and must be adjusted after they are installed.
You're saying it must be adjusted after installation, I'm just calling one of these adjustments "stack height". Perhaps you're just chokin' on the phraseology. What else besides "stack height" would you like to call the adjustable distance between the fingers and the pressure plate? You say they must be "adjusted after they are installed". Fine. That's the same thing as I described above as adjusted "horizontally on the tractor". But I can also do the very same thing (vertically) - and more accurately on the bench. The proviso is that the clutchpack must be pre-loaded during a bench adjustment, as if it were actually bolted to the flywheel. That's the only difference.
So again, why - when we both agree that you can't count on a clutchpack to be properly adjusted out of the box (or one that's been disassembled for repair) AND that it must be adjusted after installation - why are you right and I'm still wrong.
