Can someone show me PICTURES of the DIFFLOCK LEVER, and the PTO ENGAGE/DISENGAGE LEVER of where they are located? I know about the Lever behind the seat that moves from 540/N/1000 positions. I didn't know there was another lever for the PTO. Which lever do you move into position first, the one behind the seat, or the ENGAGE/DIS-ENGAGE LEVER? That is why I though it was broke. Also, should the 540/N/1000 lever be in the "N" position before engaging the PTO lever? The clutch should be pressed in all the way too, correct? And the engine speed should be all the way down to idle before letting out on the clutch easy to spin the PTO? I have 5 questions here in this post. Just answer them the best way you can.

I hope I am not making a big deal out of all these questions, I just want to be sure I know and take these notes the correct way. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I don't presume to know all the N's and outs of the jinma pto setup.. but if it anything like other multispeed ptos that have seperate speed and engage controls.. I would -think- you would select speed first.. then engage or disengage.. doesn't hurt to use the clutch for both procedures.

Travis,
You can use either lever to engage/disengage the PTO, but both must be engaged to make the PTO run. The lever near your right heal slides a collar between two spline shafts and is the "main" engagement, because the splines must line up for the collar to move, it is a lttle more difficult to engage, sometime must drag the clutch a little while applying gentle pressure to feel the splines line up.

The rear N position will stop the PTO, this also has a sliding collar between two constantly meshed gear sets, it is much easier to engage.

The clutch pedal should be fully depressed to engage either lever.

I have noticed that the right arm on the 3-point hitch , when raised to the full "up" position, hits the 540/N/1000 position lever. Do all of the Farm Pros do this, is something not just adjusted correctly, or is this just the way the manufacturers made it not realizing that the lever is too far back?

I don't know which mod you have, but there should be a stopper on the return rod. There is a set screw that permits you to move the stopper back and forth on the rod. Position the stopper at a location on the rod where the lift arms stop earlier.

I have a farm pro 2425 and it has been great for me. Being small and easy for me to get on ( I am disabled) I use it for everything on my 60 acres. I am dismayed however, I got it our last weekend when it was 65 ( yes 65 in Feb in Missouri go figure) and I could not get my 4 wheel drive to engage. That is an important feature of this tractor for me. Any suggestions?

You'll probably get more and better responses if you start a new thread rather than adding on to one that was started 15 years ago.

Can you describe in greater detail what happens when you try to put it in 4WD? Does the lever not go in, or does it go in but not engage?

Were you rolling when you tried to engage it. it has two square cut claws that need to align. Unless they are aligned it wont engage. Try while driving straight and turning while holding light pressure on the 4WD lever. When the claws align it will/should slip right into 4WD.
