In-tank screen Bob, and there's no meaningful suction - unless the flow is interrupted. For the most part, gravity is in play. Unless and until that is, the supply to the sediment bowl is interrupted. All fuel destined for the bowl must pass through that screen - and then the bowl housing screen - before it actually enters the sediment bowl. Matter of fact, Ranch Hand Supply actually addressed the issue back in 2010 when the came up with a"fuel bowl upgrade" kit. If I'm not mistaken, he also addressed the issue of the collapsing plastic sediment bowl in the same kit.
