I am a new Jinma JM200LE owner, 21 hours. I bought it for yard work on 10 acres. 4Ft Rottary cutter, 4Ft box blade, 30inch scoop, Middlebuster and a yard rake are my primary Implements. I paid $3600 for the tractor with no warranty. I have replaced all the fluids except the coolant which will be done next next week. I could have bought a JD 790, a somewhat similar machine. It has a little smaller engine with a higher horsepower rating at about 20% higher revs.
The 790, no loader and hard negotiations, $10500? About 3 times what I paid. Would any of my Implements known the difference when I drag them around the place? I think not. I am a retired engineer. 35 years in Avionics design and general manufacturing consulting. I understand materials and recognize good design when I see it. The Jinma is built to last in a hard primitive world where an oil change is a major family decision. I will baby mine where the mass market user will beat the daylights out of it so he and his family can eat tomorow. Yes excellent dealer service would be pleasant but this newsgroup is a great collection of knowledge and wisdom and is glad to share.
Best regards,
Harold Baird

Well said Harold, I opened the tranny up on mine to "take a look" and I liked what I saw, sold heavy square cut gears. I plan on willing mine to my nieces so they can pass it on to their kids ! Despite what some may think, These tractors are not going to break in ½ in 25 years and go in to a scrap yard, they will be running long after the computer chips in some of the newer tractors fizzle out and they no longer work. Remember 25 years is not long to a tractor but might just as well be a million years to the computers built in to some of the tractors today.

I compared the cost of the 790 to my JM200LE based on my well informed opinion the work done would be similar. My well formed opinion is the JD790 will last as long as a Jinma given equal care. I don't know for a fact but I suspect JD fluids need replacing, fittings get loose, and filters need replacing. I suspect something may even wear on a JD. I have no reason to believe the JD will last longer. If anyone has the test data and the credentials to show otherwise come forward. Otherwise state your opinions as such, not as fact. I have many interests and have found over my many years there those that consider only the most expense to be aceptable. Only Harley Davidson motorcycles when I bought a Yamaha. Only Nikon or a Hasselblad cameras. Only organic grown vegetables are good for you. Only custom 1911A pistols are reliable enough to carry. My children all went thru a brand name Jeans and Sneaker phase. Only the most expensive can be good enough. I believe the only value a tractor has is in moving the implement I have attached to it. It won't make me taller, put hair back on my head or keep my weight down. It only pulls the brush mower. I am cheap first and am always looking for a good buy for my money. I only want work done over time. I don't own a Rolex watch tho an ex wife tried to get me to buy one. If anyone needs a JD, WH or any brand of tractor it is fine with me. If it make your food taste better to own one, or you can sleep better great. If the big 3 are so reliable, why even have a warranty or dealers for that matter? I think it is a little stupid to find fault with anyone's choice of anything. If you are giving advice make sure you are clear that you have no first hand knowledge and are just spreading the same Fear uncertainty and doubt(FUD) the big 3 want you to spread. Massive advertising campaines cost big $$. Some companys spend more advertising than on product development.
Thank you for listening,
Harold Baird

I posted the link to the new warranty in an earlier post, yes there are some conditions, limits, etc, but it does cover the entire tractor. I still think that the vast majority of warranty problems will show up within the first 6 months, provided the tractor gets some use during that time, the longer warranty will protect the people who don't use much. It is always a shame when someone has 20 hours on a 8 month old tractor and has a problem. The longer warranty will help prevent this situation. We are offering the 24 month warranty on all of our in stock farm pros and just sending in the extra payment as we sell them. Other dealers may choose to sell theirs as they bought them...with 6 moths parts and labor, others may choose to add the normal Fail Safe extended warranty, up to 5 years even, but units shipped after June 1 will be 24 months right from Homier.

Open question to any dealer or recent purchaser.. what's the going price on a 30hp jinma.. 354 I guess? northern has tham at what? 10k$

And what's the going price on a Nh tc-30 for example?

Assume new.. and no extra's.. just plain.. gear tranny.. ag tires.. etc. I see adds for dealers with 4wd tc30, gear tranny listed at 11K$ 13.8k$ for the 33da

Anyone find bota or JD prices? I was just wondering exctly how far the 'twice the price' claim pans out. Really seems it is more toward the lower end.. like 1xx and 2xx jinmas that come in at 'half the price' and as you move larger.. the competitive priceing erodes down to a 1.x price issue.. and.. in some cases.. almost straight up. as with the case o fthe nortrac and the Nh tc30 or 33da.. with a slight price premium.. etc.

Who cares,,,the question was,,,,,,whats the price of a big three 25 h.p. with 4wd,standard shift,,,no fel,,,,3 point cat one hitch,,,,jinmas cost less than 8,000 for that,,,whats the price of the big three or four,,,don';t confuse the issue,,,,,,,80 percent of readers on all these boards probably have about a 25 h.p. tractor,,,not a 30 -40 h.p. one,,,so stick to question please,,,,and no special deals either,,,everyday prices,,,thats what I quoted for jinma,,,,course,,might need to ask somebody who actually knows,,,,,,,,,,thingy

But,,,it is really hard to believe I'm actually argueing this point,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,they are saying that a big three is as cheap or close to same price as a jinma,,,,,what????forgive me,,,note to self,,etc,,,,,,what kind of an argument is that,,,unbelievable,,!!!boy,,,its getting tough over their if they are making that statement,,,,,over 16,000 dollars for a jd or kabota,,that is comparitable,,,,,,,now thats the bottom line,,,,,,thingy
