Stinking diesel...................Not spoken like a true tractor person. Diesel is hillbilly incense. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Depends on the price/tax amount. I could save about 30 to 60 cents a gallon depending on the volume. But I prefer to pull road fuel out of my aux. tank in the dually because I don't burn much at home. I put one of those Fill-Rite pumps on, fuel is always fresh that way. I only use the low sulfur in the Kubota. I think the manual stated low sulfur as being preferred.

At work I use a 550 gallon tank and have it filled up once a month. Those tractors run on the cheaper high sulfur stuff. It just dropped 5 cents in the past few days. My guess its about $1.10 right now in GA, the low sulfur road diesel is $1.67 to $1.71 around the house. I fill up the truck in Cartersville GA for $1.46 to $1.54... I stop there as much as possible. On average it saves me about $8 or $16 per month and its on my route to Alabama. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It pays to shop around if you do any volume. My truck holds about 76 gallons, I fill up twice a month.

My Heating fuel company has a set up with 4 pumps; On road desil, Off road diesil, Kerosene and High test gas. If you have an account with them, you can get a special, computerized key ($25) and access the pumps any time. Today, 5/4/04, off road diesil was $1.40 and 93 octain gas was $1.78. At the gas station the price for on road diesil and high test is about $1.99.

Daryl, you just won't do, boy. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
Here in TN our Co-Ops all have pumps for gas, kero, off road and taxed diesel. Of course, you have to swear, under penalty of perjury that you have sufficient property to qualify. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Call some of the local fuel distributors. Down in SE Kansas, I have to use a Citgo distributor at his plant since no one else carries off road diesel down that way. He has a pump and I can get 5 gal cans filled, but his service hours are limited on weekends. In NE Kansas, most of the dyed diesel is at Phillips 66 service station/convenience stores out in the country. Oddly enough, our local coop will only deliver large quanties of dyed diesel; no pump to fill 5 gal cans.

Not all; ours doesn't. Sure wish it did, though.

I say "stinking" fuel as the last time I filled my plastic can with fuel it cracked on the way home and over half a gallon of diesel soaked into the carpet of my mini van. It is a nauseating ordeal driving to work.

Ridiculous hours at the Greenback CoOp. We were there last Saturday at 12:30. It had closed at Noon. Absurd. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Me either. Could be a state thing.

The IRS fuel credit works but you don't get back all the tax. You only get the fed portion back, which is about half. It does require an extra form also but it's a pretty simple form.
