Mahindra actually produced Jeeps under license for decades.

I’ve been looking at a new non-current mule (I think it a ‘16). We’d like to get tracks for it to maintain winter trails. Does anyone have tracks on their mules? And if you do, how is their performance?

I think the performance is fine, and they destroy the drivetrain. So I am told by a friend and ski club mechanic. And I mean a host of brands, not just Kawi.

I even decided today, to remove the lift kit from my Mule. I believe it is hard on the u-joints, and increases the ground clearance well beyond the four or so inches the machine can operate in, so what's the point? I did put larger wheels and tires on it which helped a tiny bit in snow. Plus, getting in and out is harder, when lifted.

Mahindra started building licensed copies of the Willys Jeep shortly after WWII. In the Kaiser years they built nearly the entire lineup. The ROXOR is sold as the Mahindra THAR in other markets. The body is slightly different than the CJ3 it is based on (a CJ3 top will not fit), but the Mahindra axles will accept differentials designed for the Jeep's Dana axles. They sell the ROXOR as a UTV here in the U.S. because it is much easier to meet the regulations. In most states you can spend about $2500 adding things like turn signals and windshield wipers and license it for the road. As sold here it is limited to 45 mph, but several companies offer an ECU reflash that will easily increase that.

Had they back halved it and put a dump bed on it, I would likely own it today. As a standard Jeep like body, it's really not useful to me.

That is a valid point. They have made a number of pickup versions of it in the past. It would be good if they could offer a half cab pickup version today. That would make it a great fence runner.

I actually had a nice email exchange with someone at Mahindra North America where I asked if they would be bringing the Mahindra Bolero (their pickup) to the USA, or at least adding a real bed, possibly with a dump option to the ROXOR. Here is there response:

We are working on a more work-oriented package now as we're getting a lot of commercial interest in the vehicle. It much more in the way of work space and storage. Also working some sort of dump box but due to EPA regulations we can't offer hydraulic with our current engine configuration right now. I would imagine the aftermarket will also be bringing forward some dump box solutions.​
