Hi guys i have a farmall 140 culvator that the culvator shanks trip when barly in ground i have tighened the big nut on the springs still no good bought new ones from ag supply sam e proble can the shanks be spot welded tacked so they do not trip and were is the best spot on shank foot to tack weld it note not all od them trip any help thanks art

Wow, I've never, ever seen any trip..!! How deep are you cultivating, or what shovels or sweeps are you running..?? Most cultivation levels are at around 2"- 4" depending on the situation.

That being said, I'm thinking tacking the shank not to trip, will just bend the shank, or next weakest link. JMO...
