Didn't the Farmall A series also have a brownish color,and wasn't that the A series demonstrator color?

Thomas - The truth is....you could get your tractor painted any color you wanted. Obviously red was the standard bearer. During '46-'47 IH had trouble obtaining red pigments, therefore tractors of this period could be seen as having an orange-ish tint. The "demonstrator" tractors of 1950 where white.

I been lucky only once to see a white demonstrator model and that was Gorham,Maine on flat bed,which was being haul to a IH event in Mass.
The Farmall M was a 1945 w/a narrow front end..oh yeah it wasn't for sale. /w3tcompact/icons/sad.gif
